Which is better, BREKKA or the Keller Funnel?
If you're using the Keller Funnel or any other funnel today, BREKKA V10 gives you more: built-in handles for a true no-touch technique, a more pliable funnel with a hydrophilic coating, and a 2-in-1 design for both sides. Request a sample and try it on your next case.
What is BREKKA V10?
BREKKA V10 is a single-use breast implant delivery funnel for plastic surgeons and OR teams. It is a flat trapezoid sheet with built-in handles that you cut to configure, hydrate, load and use to deliver a silicone gel breast implant through the incision. V10 adds a new hydrophilic coating for a smoother implant glide and an updated sterilization process that leaves the funnel noticeably more pliable.
How is BREKKA different from the Keller Funnel?
The Keller Funnel is a cone-shaped funnel. BREKKA V10 is a flat trapezoid sheet that you cut to the configuration you need, with built-in handles for opening and loading without touching the inside of the funnel. Depending on implant type and insertion location, one BREKKA can be configured for two insertions in the same procedure. Both are single-use, hydrated before loading, and trimmed at the tip to fit the implant.
What does 2-in-1 mean?
The flat trapezoid sheet can be cut into different configurations. Depending on implant type and insertion location, one BREKKA V10 can be configured for two insertions in a single procedure, such as one for each side. See the BREKKA Instructions for Use for the configurations.
Why do the handles matter?
The handles are what set BREKKA V10 apart in the OR. Your team opens, loads and guides the funnel by its built-in handles, without touching the inside of the funnel, so the implant can go from package to pocket with no hands on it. It is designed for a true no-touch technique, depending on implant type and technique.
What implant sizes does it work with?
BREKKA is intended for delivering silicone gel breast implants. Per the manufacturer, cut the distal tip along the black dotted line for implants over 400 cc. If an implant does not move easily through the funnel, check sizing for implant volume, and always follow the BREKKA Instructions for Use.
